UTM Builder & Validator

UTMs do more than label clicks. They connect each campaign, channel, and conversation to the revenue it produces, so you can see what is actually working, make decisions with confidence, and scale with intention instead of guesswork.

UTM link builder

Build consistent, analytics-ready tracking links. Everything runs in your browser, and nothing is saved or sent anywhere.

Clean UTMs are step one. If you still can't tie ad spend to closed revenue, the gap is usually in the CRM and the tracking behind it. That's what I build.

FAQs

Do UTM parameters affect SEO?
No. UTMs are read by analytics tools, not used by search engines to rank pages. Keep them off internal links and make sure your pages have canonical tags so tagged URLs aren't treated as separate pages.
Are UTM parameters case-sensitive?
In most analytics platforms, yes. "Facebook" and "facebook" are recorded as two different sources. Using lowercase for every value avoids the problem entirely.
Should I use UTMs on internal links?
No. Tagging links within your own site resets the visitor's original source and misattributes the conversion. Use UTMs only on links that bring people to your site from somewhere else.
Do I still need UTMs if ad platforms track conversions?
Yes. Ad platforms report on their own activity. UTMs give you one consistent labeling system across every channel, and they can be stored in your CRM and connected to closed revenue.
What's the difference between first-touch and last-touch UTMs?
First touch records how someone originally found you. Last touch records what brought them back before converting. Capturing both gives a fuller picture of what starts the relationship and what moves it forward.
How do I get UTM data into my CRM?
Add hidden fields to your forms that capture the UTM values from the URL, then map those fields to your CRM records. Automation tools like Zapier can carry the data between systems when there isn't a native integration.
